Talhakimt pendants were originally finger rings from India, made from agate (usually carnelian), but were often worn in Africa (mostly Mali and Mauritania) as hair and necklace ornaments. Eventually, the Czechs and other Europeans made glass copies of talhakimt pendants, in lots of sizes and colors. These are from the French factory of Bapterosse from the early 1900s. These are approximately 2 3/16 inches long and about 1 3/8 inches wide. They have been used as tribal adornment in country and may be dirty or pitted from wear, and may have small chips or worn edges. These can be washed and even scrubbed gently if desired, although they are glass and should be handled with care.
